How it works
From your current inbox to a private workspace, in a few honest steps.
No jargon, no hidden defaults. Here’s exactly what happens at each stage of getting started.
Onboarding, step by step
Verify the email you already use.
We send a short-lived code to confirm it’s yours. It is not added to any mailing list.
Secure the workspace.
Set up a passkey or device key first. A password/recovery alternative is offered only where it is genuinely supported, with its limits explained honestly.
Choose an initial workspace mode.
Use this device only, connect your own storage, or explore with clearly labeled sample content.
Migration
Connecting an existing mailbox
Chrysaor uses a neutral Connect an existing mailbox adapter with clear permission copy, so you know what access is being requested before you grant it. No adapter is enabled until it has actually been implemented.
What the migration screen tells you
- — Which mailbox provider you’re connecting.
- — Exactly what permission is being requested and why.
- — Whether the connection is read-only or read/write.
- — How to disconnect it later from Settings.
Storage, explained before you choose
Three storage modes, and what each one means in practice.
Use on this device only
Encrypted content stays on the device you’re using. Nothing syncs anywhere else.
Connect my storage
Point sync at a location you control: your own WebDAV server, self-hosted storage, or a connected encrypted provider. Only implemented adapters are ever enabled.
Explore with sample content
Fictional sample content is visually distinct and removable, so you can try the workspace before bringing in anything real.
